Conifer Grove School is nestled on the shores of the Pahurehure inlet. With approximately 540 students our community has a rich diversity that we believe is a strength at Conifer Grove School. We place a strong emphasis on creating well-rounded individuals who experience the breadth of the Curriculum while still focussing on the fundamentals of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.
We believe in enhancing student learning conceptually. This is where learning is constructed through what students bring and is built on using our overarching big understanding. This constructivist theory in practice provides the platform to open the breadth of the curriculum such as The Arts, Sciences, Social Studies, Technology and ICT, Health and Physical Education and Second Languages (Year 7 & 8). Learning is deepened so that students have a deeper understanding of their world and the world around them.
Students also have opportunities to be involved in Kapa Haka, Pasifika and various other groups and sports teams.
Our School Values of Whakamiha -Respect, Mana Motuhake-Responsibility, Matatika-Honesty, Manaaki-Caring and Hiranga-Excellence play an important part in the culture of learning that we have here at Conifer Grove School.
At Conifer Grove School we place high expectations for learning and behaviour. We believe that the school values through Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) help students to be well equipped to be active contributing members of their community and also globally.
We believe our students can all be the best they can be, that they can all strive for excellence and that it is our role to encourage, inspire and foster a lifetime of learning, where they can realise their potential. We place importance on continuous improvement and this is emphasised in the school’s vision He Waka Eke Noa Ki Te Pae Tawhiti -“Paddling the Waka together to Reach New Horizons” we endeavour to be the best school for our students and our community. We look forward to your support and working together towards positive teaching and learning for all.
“Paddling the Waka together to Reach New Horizons”
