Kia ora koutou,

The Conifer Grove School Board of Trustees have met about the upcoming teacher strikes on Thursday 23 October, 2025. We wanted to let you know that Conifer Grove School will be closed on Thursday 23 October, 2025 due to strike action by teachers.

This decision has been made because we do not have enough staff on site to safely supervise students, which creates health and safety concerns. The wellbeing and safety of our tamariki and staff must always come first.

Key points:

The strike consists of teachers, principals, administration staff and support staff.
The school will not be open for instruction on this day.
Students will need to stay at home, as we will not be able to provide supervision.
Normal school operations will resume on Friday 24 October, 2025.
We understand that this may cause disruption and thank you for your understanding and support in ensuring a safe environment for everyone.

Kids After School care will be providing care in our school hall on this day to support whaanau. Please see the attached flyer for more information about cost and making a booking.

When: Bake Sale on Thursday 16 October 

What… 

Any whaanau who would like to bake something and bring it along to school for a Bake Sale. (this is optional)
Students can bring in a little money to grab something tasty at break time. Cakes will be available for sale from $2. 

Juniors will be able to purchase a tasty treat at Break One.

Seniors will purchase their tasty treat at Break Two.
